Conclusions
- The device could only bring the concentration down to 100. Which is OK by Indian standards, I guess.
- I will be running the test again with the product with fan on high.
- The strange thing is how the device gives up mid way through the night. Not sure if this is because of the pollution on that particular night, the product characteristics, or simply because the fan was set on medium.
More Tests
I later conducted more tests on this device, with the fan speed set to high. The results of these tests were even poorer than the test earlier. Based on these tests, I would not recommend that you use this air purifier with the fan set to high for extended periods of time. Use high fan speed for the first couple of hours to bring things down to the 200 level, then set to medium bring things down to 100.
